The 2025 GEM Global Conference is much more than an international meeting between entrepreneurial experts; it is the leading worldwide forum where data-based research takes the spotlight to understand and foster entrepreneurship all around the globe. Organised by Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM), this conference will take place 17, 18, and 19 February 2025 at different locations, including the B Accelerator Tower (BAT), University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU (Bizkaia Aretoa), Deusto University (CRAI), and the iconic Guggenheim Museum of Bilbao.
The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor project is the main primary source of data for entrepreneurship around the world, which allows the Basque entrepreneurial ecosystem to compare itself internationally. With over two decades of experience, GEM has led the collection and analysis of data on entrepreneurship in over 50 economies, which provides a clear and detailed vision of the state of entrepreneurship in different contexts.
The event will provide:
Presentations with the most recent research on entrepreneurship by GEM around the world, providing a clear image of the current state of entrepreneurship and the hurdles it faces.
Critical data to help political leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs to make informed decisions.
Panels and workshops that explore how to use the empirical evidence to design innovation solutions to the most urgent challenges in entrepreneurship.
The 2025 GEM Global Conference is the perfect place for those who acknowledge the power of thorough, data-based research and value applying it to development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. This event provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity to gain solid, reliable knowledge to drive the future of entrepreneurship based on specific evidence and detailed analyses.
The 2025 GEM Global Conference will address the following key topics, all based on research and data that are highly relevant to the worldwide entrepreneurial ecosystem
The most recent findings will be shared from the GEM report, the largest worldwide survey on entrepreneurship. Begun in 1999 by the London Business School and Babson College, GEM provides reliable data on entrepreneurial activity in over 50 countries. Since 2004, the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country has joined this research effort through GEM Basque Country and the EEB-OVE, Basque Entrepreneurship Observatory. These initiatives provide valuable data to compare the Basque entrepreneurial ecosystem with the rest of the world.
This report is essential for those who wish to make decisions based on accurate data and to understand global trends in entrepreneurship.
Conclusions from the most recent global analyses on women’s entrepreneurship will be presented. This report shows the opportunities, barriers, and impact of women in the business world, and how to improve their access to resources and funding to bolster their participation in the global economy.
We will explore how entrepreneurs can lead the transition toward more sustainable and responsible business models, highlighting examples of ethical and environmental innovation. This block will examine how companies can be drivers for change for a fairer and more ecological economic development.
